Two types of bingo are played around the world. In the USA they play 75-ball bingo, played on a 5x5 card with the centre square usually marked 'free'. In the UK, some of Europe, Australia and parts of South America they play a 90-ball game, which is played on a 9x3 card. You can find both types available in online bingo games.
In 75-ball, the pattern that players are trying to achieve can differ greatly – anything from a standard single line to more complicated themed patterns. But the aims of the online bingo games are always the same: mark the numbers to achieve the pattern, and bingo!
In 90-ball games, the cards have three horizontal lines and nine columns. Each line contains five numbers, therefore each card has 15 numbers in total. The first column contains numbers from 1-10, the second column 11-20, and so on until the final column which contains numbers from 81-90. 90-ball bingo is normally played in three stages: one line, two lines and Full House. In a one-line game, players have to mark a complete horizontal line across one card (5 numbers in total). In two-lines, the aim is to mark two lines horizontally across one card (10 numbers in total). For a Full House, all 15 numbers need to be marked on one card, just like in a standard coverall game.
