Former England football star Teddy Sheringham was arrested due to allegedly giving false details concerning a speeding offence. This is obviously a trend amongst football stars following similar showdowns with the police by at least two other top footballers. Sheringham, holder of 51 caps for England and a recipient of an MBE last week, is out on bail after being questioned on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. The other naughty footballers to fall foul of the police are Bobby Zamora of West Ham, and Shaun Newton of some other team. UK online bingo players are probably amazed that Paris Hilton was not amongst those arrested by British police, though this is probably due to the fact she does not play football for an English Premier League team and is currently serving time in a California jail for an American-style driving offence. None of the arrested footballers are known to play online bingo games, though Paris Hilton is rumoured to vaguely understand what the two words ‘online’ and ‘bingo’ refer to when put together.
