Bingos.co.uk front person Kerry Katona has been checked into the Priory clinic as a result of the recent knifepoint robbery and hostage drama at her home. The 26-year-old suffers bipolar disorder, a type of manic depression which has been exacerbated by the terrifying armed robbery at her home in Cheshire which saw her and her five-month-old daughter, Heidi, held hostage. Max Clifford, Katona's spokesman, said: "Kerry has gone into the Priory. Bipolar disorder is something she has suffered from for some time, and the condition has, of course, been very much brought on by what happened. "She has been treated in the Priory before so they know her problems and her symptoms. It was a question of getting her there as quickly as possible so she can receive the right treatment." A popular presence in the online bingo community due to her association with online bingo hall Bingos.co.uk, the former Atomic Kitten singer was confronted earlier this week, along with her husband and daughter, by three masked robbers at her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Armed with a crowbar, sledgehammer and large knife, one of the gang held the blade to Katona's throat while the others took her husbanc through the house. They stole tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and electrical equipment and then made their escape in the family’s new BMW M5. Understandably, Ms Katona was left "absolutely distraught" by the raid. The news of Ms Katona’s ordeal has been widely commented on in free online bingo chat rooms by people who play bingo online.
