For many ling time UK online bingo players out there, the name Tony Wilson will be a blast from the past, especially for those caught up in the Madchester music scene of the 1980s in which Wilson was responsible for launching the careers of bands such as Joy Division, New Order and the Happy Mondays. Unfortunately, Wilson died last Friday at the age of 57, from a heart attack no doubt brought on by his bouts with cancer which had left him weak and in ill health. For those in the online bingo community old enough to remember, Wilson set up Factory Records as well as the famous Hacienda nightclub in Manchester. A BBC spokesman said Wilson was "one of a kind and will be sadly missed." "There will never be anyone quite like Tony. He was a true free spirit and a passionate advocate for Manchester -- the city, its people and of course, its music.” Written by John Witherspoon - Play bingo online at http://bingostreet.com/ and read bingo news.
